Thanks for the info skigirl My price range for a house with 5 acres will likely be to low to afford CO. I think I am going to have to go to WY, or MT. I will need at least 5 acres, with a house for 200K, but still want to keep the commute to work down to less than 45 minutes. Also prefer basically being able to ride straight from the house, and not always have to trailer them.

There are a lot of areas you wouldn't have to trailer your horses from in that area, but finding a home with 5 acres under 200k is probably impossible. It would be a struggle to get the land alone for that price. There are areas of Colorado that this may be possible in, but it would be difficult to find them with any reasonable commute to work.
