...

We (USA) could have just procured test kits from S Korea (Even Switzerland and Austria have tested 200x more cases than USA (per mil people) ) USA is off to a VERY SLOW start for testing... (sounds familiar)

The old, infirm and in poor health already (like any bad flu virus).

For the rest of us not much to worry about.

3) As of 4 March, less than 1,000 tests have been performed within the entire country. Results of this slow start in the USA is that people who should voluntarily stay at home, are unknowingly, but actively passing the virus on to others.

Here's another fun fact…the lowest published mortality rate from COVID-19 is 2%. That percentage of the US population equals 6.5 million people. If even one percent of this number hit hospital emergency rooms at the same time, our entire health system would collapse.
It's not the flu, guys! Calling everything under the sun "flu" is misleading. And many of us, LHS79, are in one of those categories you mentioned.

No panic, just practical.

Personally, filling a garage with TP is ridiculous ---but getting some extra so ya don't have to go
to the store in 4 weeks when things 'could' be worse is practical and wise.
My take, no harm.

I went to a Discount a store that carries Costco TP at a great price- they were out already! Funny.
And too funny - as you walk into a Walmart right at the entry they have most every disinfectant
you would want!
(And I saw and followed 2 car thieves yesterday from the parking lot. Very exciting day -
I found out it's hard to call police when
you can't see the face of your phone in the daytime, LOL!!!! Oh I make myself laugh.)

Btw - hand sanitizer formula-
1/3 -Aloe vera GEL
2/3 -90% alcohol
Essential oil option.
Here's the WHO formula: https://www.who.int/gpsc/5may/Guide_...Production.pdf
This is to make 10 Liters (about 2 1/2 gallons) You can make smaller quantities

Here's PopSci's formula:
https://www.who.int/gpsc/5may/Guide_...Production.pdf

I would avoid DIY unless you really can't find any of the commercial stuff. This is not a case where homemade is better. Popsci does say to sanitize your containers before you fill them. Good point!

Ninth case confirmed in Larimer County, home of Fort Collins and Colorado State University; however, specific location information has not been released. The case involves a 50-year-old female who is positive for COVID-19 and was diagnosed with pneumonia.

Of course they are. Do you read in the paper about every person who comes down with the flu every day? Our paper today had the front page filled with the virus news. Even our NW section ran a story about wha Fayetteville is doing or planning to do to prepare for an outbreak here.

The media was hyping flu before the coronavirus went, well, viral. This summer they were hyping measles. It's their job.

With news organizations, "if it bleeds it leads" is how they prioritize reporting.

Still, this is a serious illness; I plan to stay calm, stay home, and stay informed. No hoarding.

The biggest SHOCK to come out from this Corona Virus stuff IMHO is the realization of just how much of our CRITICAL industries are controlled by CHINA. I believe it was reported on CNN that over 90% of the pharmaceutical ingredients we need in the USA come from China. Really scary is the fact that a huge part of our military equipment is coming from foreign sources. Darwin may have been right in his theory of the SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST. How is it that the country that put Men on the moon in the 1960s can be so F^^^^^^g stupid now?
