I had ACL reconstruction last spring, and it took about 8 months before I finally felt confident enough to head to the hills. Plus having a 1-year old also takes up a lot of time. Started out very slowly, and didn't really get going until January. Here are some pics of how my buddies and I spent this past winter...

While still not 100% knee-wise, it's been a great season. My best day was a weekday at Breck with about a foot of the lightest untracked pow that we hit up on Whale's Tail down through Y Chutes -- too much fun to stop and take pictures though.

A low-count season -- 30+ days and counting, but being a gimp, I'm not complaining. With the Basin open until June, should get some more days in.

So how was your winter?

You really should. Go to Loveland (the ski area, not the town obviously). They have a deal where you take 3 lessons (~$75 a pop including rental gear) starting with a beginner lesson. At the end of your third lesson you get a season pass. A great deal for starting out.

I'll actually be up there tomorrow and maybe Wednesday or Thursday. Maybe on Sunday (I try to avoid skiing weekends).

In the spring I usually don't get to the hill until around 10 or 11am to give the snow a chance to soften up. And if it's cold spring day with no chance of a thaw, I'll usually stay in -- not much desire to ski coral reef.

DM me the next time you're coming up. In the spring I'm never sure when I'll be skiing. It's only a 20-minute drive to the Basin for me, so if I can sneak out of work, I will.

That sounds very good and a good deal. Will have to do it for the next season. No one i know skis so I will either have to do it myself or find someone else who is interested in this.

Thank for the tip!
