I know, I was just further explaining my point. In fact I don't know if I've ever had a disagreement with you, Katiana, and that says a lot, considering I can be pretty argumentative by nature.

Let's also give esya a break-- even though what she said about the forum structure didn't make any sense. Esya has posted some great information here in the past.

An undeniable part of us regulars' attraction to this forum is the online community we have going on here. The discussion topics are always changing, but I always look forward to hearing again from jazzlover, tfox, livecontent, Katiana, McGowdog (especially his photos), Denver Aztec, NewAgeRedneck, Mike, suzco, EscapeCalifornia, formercalifornian, BlueWillowPlate, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few others here. Of course the purpose of this forum is primarily for newcomers, but what the forum has become is what makes it fun. I sure wouldn't waste hours and hours here (and I'm sure I speak for others) if this was nothing other a pure question-answer-question-answer information session.

Let’s see if I can summarize all the things that various and individual Coloradoans have gotten off their chest here (by writing some wonderful satire that developed into some very philosophical points!):

1. Don’t ask general questions until you at least try and read the indexed threads on similar topics.
2. Don’t repeat questions unless the answers are really old or you don’t mind being called lazy or stupid.
3. Don’t ask about general things that you can at least use the city data info to answer (such as median price of a house or male/female ratio).
4. If you can’t find it, ask. If it does not come up in a key word search (or two or three), ask.
5. If you want reassurance on things realtors don’t usually mention, ask. I think this does include things like snakes, bugs, and allergens.
6. Don’t ask anything unless you plan to come here within 6 months, for sure.
7. Don't expect anyone to make the final decision for you.
8. Don’t be youthful and optimistic and hopeful about the future (now we are sadly sounding like Rhode Island and Ohio!)
9. And, above all, Remember to say please and thank-you! Often!
...
Oh, I like your list by the way! I forgot about the body of this post before I went on my rant!

After my rant, I read down further and saw some people in support for my "suggestion" for the site which might be slightly in conflict with your last pet peeve.

On the one hand, I understant your viewpoint, but I'd hope that you're grateful for what we have now compared to back in the late 06' or very early 07' era when we had each state and no city subforums yet. Heck, I dont' even remember there being anything but states at one time. If there were subforums beyond the states, I didn't even go to them yet.

So I think we'll all have to admit that City-Data is Top Dog and hopefully will be for eons to come. I don't even feel like it's fair to make a request for Pueblo or Southern Colorado to get its own subforum yet due to lack of population. But if they're ever looking to do an expansion, I'd always put in a plug to expand the Pueblo County area or at least a SE Colorado section, and maybe a Grand Junction or at least Western Slope section. Then we won't have to go bugging Co Springs and Denver forums and the general Colorado section could be cleaned out a bunch.

Thx Vegas! I'd sure like to fire up the camera now for a mid-fall pre Halloween photo tour.

Yup. I didn't mean to rant on that one point so harshly. It was the structure of the subforums and me wanting to plug my remote area so adamantly and not to argue someone else making perhaps a good point for their area. I'm just jealous that Denver metro has such good coverage and my area doesn't yet, but you could fit all of southeastern Colorado population-wise into an area like Westminster and it'd hardly even make a dent. Pueblo, although historic and old, doesn't even have a town mayor. We have County Commissioners! Opinions withheld.

But yeah, Esya, I'm sorry to come off as a jerk here.

Oops, you too. See, I knew I'd forget someone. This was a can of worms listing individual posters.

I always look forward to your posts, too, vegaspilgrim. Also Noahma's. I visiti several forums on CD, and I think the Denver forum is probably the most respectful one on CD.

Default A...a....choo..

I have a problem with this thread---it is done saying what is important and now just drags on and on about trivia and nonsense. I would suggest spend some time posting some interesting subjects about your city or neighborhood, if there are no posters that you are interested in helping. This would make this forum more interesting.

These types of posts and the posts about hating Texans and Californians are driveling, dripping and sniffling outputs that need a kleenex and a good sneeze to get it out of this forum, so we can go on with helpful and healthful discussions.

I think it was interesting that when jazzlover started this thread, there was so much interest and so many in agreement. We all have these frustrations! I think it's good to have a place we can vent a bit. It may have run its course. There is always the Off-topic thread where we can post things, and vent a little when we need to.
