Can someone explain how this works. I'm going skiing for the first time. Staying at a ski in/ski out resort. On the Breckenridge ski website, they sell Epic Pass and Lift tickets. Do I need both?
What's the difference? Thanks in advance

Epic pass is a lift ticket. Epic Pass can only be bought before the season starts. Buy now or get stuck paying for lift tickets later.

Here's some new stuff for this upcoming ski season. This applies to Breckenridge as they are part of the Vail Resorts group.

A reservation system prioritizing Epic Pass holders will be implemented to limit numbers and ensure that guests will have the space they need while at the resort. Pass holders will be required to make reservations before arriving at the resort. The number of lift tickets sold to the general public on a given day will depend on how many pass holders have made reservations, and they will be sold only online or through Vail Resorts call centers.

Only Epic Pass holders will have access to Vail Resorts mountains through Dec. 7. Pass holders also will be entitled to priority reservation days so they can lock in their visits before lift tickets go on sale to the general public.

Thank you both very much. I just bought the Epic pass since it says price goes up after 9/17. Seems like a good deal. They're including insurance for Covid and other cancellations, plus 20% discount on food, ski rental and airport transportation. Looking forward to ⛷️

I planned to but honestly I've been watching beginner lessons on YouTube and was thinking maybe not necessary now. I'm pretty coordinated. What do you think? Also, with only 3 days, should I stick to skiing or should I also give snowboarding a try ? That looks much harder from what I watched.

I snowboard (don't ski) so take it with a grain of salt, if you're only there for three days, you'll have a better 2 and half days if you spend the first half day taking a lesson.

Watching videos vs. actually doing is very different.

Where are you coming from? Is there an indoor ski area like www.snobahn.com where you can practice?

I used to teach skiing at Steamboat many years ago. Taught people who had never ever been on skis, so I know what it takes to teach a beginner. I just watched a couple of YouTube videos, and I can tell you that they leave a lot of important stuff out. There's no way that anyone who has never skied can get down even the bunny slope if all they know is from a YouTube video. Do yourself and BIG favor and take at least one full day of lessons. You will enjoy skiing a lot more if you do.
