Moving to Colorado
Please forgive me, I'm new to this... this thread was posted by accident in a reply to another thread.
Hi gang,
Hope everyone is having a great New Year's Eve. So, i'm thinking of moving to Colorado. In particular, I'm looking at areas along route 285 possibily in or around Fairplay. I've done some internet research and spoke with a realtor but would like to hear from some folks with personal information. Everything I've read so far has left me with a very positive feeling about this area. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!

I've always loved the mountains. Telluride, Steamboat, Vail and Aspen are four of my favorite ski experiences. Fishing and hiking are also high on my list. Each ski trip made me want to return. I think now is the time. From my research, a two bed, one bath log home on about 3-5 acres, witha view, can be had for a very reasonable price.

Do you plan on working or are you retired. Fairplay does not have much of a job market and if you plan to drive to Breckenridge it is nearly 1 hour from some areas in Fairplay to Breck under ideal conditions.

My plan is to work in Denver and commute on weekends. The more I think about this, maybe I need to include the north-south routr 25 corridor. Some of the threads mention good things about the Fort Collins and Colorado Springs areas. But, Fairplay sure seems nice and with some very affordable properties. I'll probably have to include these other areas in my search.

Fairplay is a minimum of 2 hours from Denver during ideal conditions. I will easily be double that when it snows.
