Driving through the Rockies
I will be moving to Cincinnati, OH and travelling through the Rockies on June 9th or 10th after staaying near Salt Lake for a couple days where my girlfriend will be over the summer.
What is the best route through the Rockies? I'm not sure whether to take the I-70 or the I-80. I'd like the easiest to drive and least strenuous on my vehicle.
I don't care about scenery or anything although a picture opportunity is definitely nice.
Anyone have any pointers?

I80 would be your best bet. Fewer inclines, but some pretty scenery around Laramie and Arlington. The Snowy Range will be on your left near there. Great photo ops in the Wamsutter area, too.

I'd probably say I-80 as well. I-70 through western Colorado is absolutely gorgeous, but it is also quite mountainous. If your car has any weaknesses, I-70 may find it .

I agree that I-80 is the better choice. A correction: coming from the west, the Snowy Range will be on the south side of I-80--the right.

ya only got one real hill on I70...the ones in Utah are apieceacake....once you hit Green River its a slow uphill till you hit Vail....then HOLD ON......NOW....goin the other way....thats differant....hellacious uphill then put it in neutral till Green River
I personally would bypass both of the "I's" and opt for good ol US 40 from Salt Lick City thru Carig/Steamboat and over Berthoud.....but ....I LOVE mountain driving......

ehh, I pulled a 10,000 pound trailer through I-70 and had no problems. Just take it easy. I-80 is hella boring.

I-80 was nice, I drove it from Denver to the Springs, it's pretty much straight, you can put your cruise control on and go. I was shocked when I saw some of the speed limits out in CO

Uh, I-80 does not run from Denver to Colorado Springs . . . Get a map.
