Ok,guess I was too bitter, original message did'nt go through. Take lot's of money to give away, a business, a strong prefference for out of state ideas of what a mountain town should be like, check out the school system deeply, & DON'T TRESSPASS. Kinda hard to do much off the road system. Lived there too many years............

Oops
Newby , hope first two are a good enough warning & we ARE moving back soon but not to that area. Have lived & traveled in many parts of Colorado for over 30 years, some of these comments are very helpful. So much is true. Good to look at it from this perspective. Over 60 now & looking for a mountain area that will work for us. Pulled towards Front Range, west of Denver.

So Mancos, huh? Isn't that near Cortez? Went to a football game there once.
Who do you guys play in sports? Durango, Creede, Del Snorte?

I am not sure where your town is but if you like it then that is all that matters.
I dont think there is a bad place in Colorado, just what a person is looking for in a city, town or hamlet.

There is a spot just past the Oklahoma/Colorado border on the left side of the road by a rock that I really don't like. It may not be the absolutely worst place in Colorado but it really annoys me.

That is the absolutely worst place in Colorado. That's why they put it in the most secluded spot in the whole state. They ought to move that rock on into New Mexico or Oklahoma.
