Historic Places In Firestone Area
Hey everyone,
I'm heading out to Firestone for a week.
Anyone have suggestions, stuff I just gotta see while I'm there?
I'm a bit of history nerd, but all suggestions are welcome.
Thanks!

Firestone is a small town that is basically on the plains north of Denver and east of Boulder. It was a coal mining town long ago, along with Dacono and Frederick that are close by. Sorry, but I can't think of anything you gotta see while you are there. The three are bedroom communities for Boulder and Denver commuters. Hopefully you will be able to travel west into the mountains and see some really good Colorado scenery.

I agree with the above. You might try the Chamber of Commerce. There is a lot to see and do in the general area of metro Denver, too. For that, you can start by searching these forums.

A mostly Italian community during those times, too. When growing up in Longmont in the 60's and 70's, they were still bussing kids from Dacono, Firestone, and Frederick to Longmont High School. I believe there are two high schools in that area now. There are still a lot of families there I knew then, but most of the fields we went plinking with our BB guns in are now covered with subdivisions or gas well pumps. BTW, those three towns are smack dab in the middle of one of our state's largest natural gas reserves, and there is a lot of round the clock activity, replete with drilling rigs, field services, and trucking. Be forewarned.

Not sure about this, but I think it's just Frederick High School. Not that it's important.

Thanks guys.
As for the mountains, someone mentioned I should see Estes Park. Any opinions?

Yeah going to the park has already been planned for me.
Any cool old deserted/ghost towns in the area?
