Default Las Animas County-retirement?

How is the Trinidad area for retirement? I know there is no college or ski resort there, and some areas have the gas drilling, but most of Colorado housing is expensive.

Better do some research. Trinidad does have a college. Trinidad's economy has somewhat emerged from a very long-term decline, in part thanks to the coalbed methane drilling boom. It still has significant poverty. Trinidad is also--like much of that area of Colorado--heavily Hispanic, with many of those Hispanics tracing their roots back to before Colorado was a state. There are some people (not me) who are not comfortable with that ethnic mix.
