Can anyone tell me what the commute is like from Castle Rock to Centennial in the winter? I read it is 20 min on a mappoint, but was wondering the true travel time in the winter months should we decide to move to castle rock area.

Depends on the weather & where in CR you are coming from - it could be days when I-25 is closed.

From Castle Pines it's 20 minutes from Plum Creek it's 35, easy.

Why do they close highways? They're called blizzards. I don't know why you'd think it's weird. Florida has shut down I-95 more than once for forest fires.

Ice storms - traffic accidents - fires, floods, construction....whatever reason the highway patrol finds in the public's interest.

I got stuck in Santa Fe NM for 5 days while I-25 was closed.

Yep. Those, too.

My husband's family was trapped for a week in Goodland, KS in a 1985 blizzard. He still hates Goodland.

Why CR and not Centennial, Aurora, Highlands Ranch or Parker?

Its an easy commute from CR to Centennial. I live in Lone Tree which is a lot closer though. I'm almost under the pattern.
