Default Commute Denver to Louisville

In about a year or so I may be getting transferred to the Louisville area. I'm single in my late 30s and looking for places to live. Thinking about condos or townhouses closer to downtown and doing a reverse commute. Would it be 20 minutes or less? I'm a sports fan and would like to live in an area where I can walk to some pubs and restaurants (I'm not into night clubs, just a few places where I can have a few beers and a sandwich. Maybe walk or catch some public transit to a Rockies or Avs game. Suggestions for neighborhoods...I can spend up to $350k but would prefer $200-250k.

Figure the distance from downtown Denver to Louisville at about 20-25 miles, depending on your exact locations. Travel time would likely not be 20 minutes or less; best to plan for 30-40 minutes, again, depending on exact locations. Snow, traffic, etc. will increase the time. It's not completely a reverse commute, as there is traffic heading to job centers in Broomfield, Louisville, and Boulder.

What happened to looking into Louisville? Did you give up on that idea? Is the RTD bus from Denver an option to go to Louisville for you?

Boulder to Louisville is a 10-15 minute easy commute, and has what you're looking for, though the ride on public transit to a Rockies or Av game will be about 45 minutes.

I live in the Lower Highland area, right off I-25 and taught summer school at Monarch High School in Louisville this summer. It took me 20 minutes to get there, leaving at 6.45 in the morning.

Pretty much so. It really isn't "social central" IMO.
