Default Colorado Gun/DUI laws

I was recently CONVICTED of a DUI, however it will be reduced to a simple moving violation. I was wondering what effect this has on purchasing a small handgun in accordance with Colorado Gun laws?

Nothing.

We have some of the best (i.e. least restrictive) gun laws in the country.

Default DUI conviction

If you are considering a carry conceal license with a DUI, you probably aren't going to get one. I suppose it depends on the sheriff of your county. The best place to find out for sure is in the C.R.S. book. Colorado Revised Statues. It covers EVERYTHING.

He said it was reduced to a violation. A DUI conviction might hurt him, but I'm not sure.

Default yep....

MotoRacer...you are correct. In fact you can be arrested for anything including sometype of felony, but you have to be convicted in order to lose your carry conceal priveledges.

And that's the way it should be.

Yeah, and even if you had a DUI, it wouldn't neccessarily prevent you from obtaining a CCW licence. One of the requirements is that you don't have a record of HABITUALLY abusing alcohol.

If you only had one DUI 5 years ago or something, they'd probably still give you one.
