IF your dogs are that crazy that they can't stay inside, why do you even have them?
seems like a waste of money for dog food if you ask me

The dog barks all the time and whines because he wants some attention.
Today the poor dog was found hung by his collar off of the back porch. Animal control says they can't do anything about it since there were no previous calls of cruelty. So, I feel pretty guilty that this poor dog is dead and maybe I could have prevented it had I called twice before like I wanted to. My family said don't make a stink, let's not make war with the neighbors. But, moral of the story is, next time I'm calling and you should too. You see animal abuse and neglect don't hesitate to call it in.

I am so sorry to hear about this. It's so sad that there are so many people out there that get dogs, but don't bother to take care of them. I live in Texas, and many cities are starting a adopt a "no leash law." This has made it illegal for dog owners to keep their dog tied up on a leash and left in the yard. I know for a fact that Irving, TX has implemented this law, and it's to prevent the sort of thing that happened with your neighbor's dog. Maybe you can start writing to your congressman to see if that's the sort of thing that can be put in place in your area.
Good luck!

I did not ask you. I did not say that they were crazy. I said that they would go crazy if I kept them inside. [mod cut]

So, you're saying that rednecks are defined as people from Arkansas, or people with poor interior design. Which, by extension, makes them abusers, according to the OP. What does skin color (or even just neck color) have to do with any of this?

Crematia - Have you thought of closing this thread down? You started out with a very important message and it is so far off what I believe your intial intent was. They are degrading this important issue. Anything to argue - bad donkey .

I don't think it's trollsome to state that skin color should have nothing to do with accusations of animal abuse. I also don't know why you need to insult me, since I have said nothing negative about you, Crematia, or you, MN2CO.
What was your original intent, BTW?
If you wanted sympathy for your neighbor's dog, you've gotten it already. If you wanted give/receive advice on what to do in the future, you've done that as well. And if you just wanted us forum readers to know that your neighbors are evil rednecks, then you've also made that very clear.
In any case, I agree that this thread has gotten off topic. However, OP's do not have the power to close threads, so it's up to the moderator.
