Yeah, Miyaki is still open and they got pretty good ratings from one customer here. They don't do the Benihana any more though.

It's right over by the Little Caesar's and the northside Aldolpho's.

Nobody mentioned the place just a couple of intersections east of I-25 on the south side of 50 West. They recently remodeled....It's pricey but I like the food and love the atmosphere, esp the redone ceiling that looks like copper but it's faux.

It is defiantly a Pueblo classic. That is one thing about Pueblo I love is our restaurants, for being only 100,000 people we are known all over Colorado for our locally owned restaurants yet we are only a 20 minute drive from Colorado's only 5 diamond restaurant, the Penrose Room at the Broadmore!

Cheating the Pueblo city limit? Let's say that you take off from Eden and blaze up to our Penrose room, shall we?

x MPH = 40 miles in 20 minutes; solve for x

40 miles /.3333 hours = 120 miles/hr

120 miles per hour

120 MPH! Average! With stop lights and curves acceleration, deceleration and stuff, you'd have to have an instantaneous speed of about 182 MPH... just a guess of mine.

May I suggest a vehicle for you?

or maybe

*Note* I don't condone this type of driving and only wish people would drive more carefully.

What do you posters in Pueblo recommend as the one or two best and most unique restaurant choices for someone who's going through town and wants to stop for an hour or two? I find myself going through Pueblo on my way to New Mexico often enough, and it'd be nice to know what the locals recommend?

Giodone's Tavern and Restaurant as mentioned above (address and phone number are given) for Italian and Martinez Cafe for the Polk Special if you're in town before 1:00 pm (info in the Pueblo Mexican food thread) for Mexican Food with great atmosphere... if you can get in because it's a small place, Coors Tavern, Star Bar, or Sunset Inn for a burger or slopper (green or red chili... both are awesome) and a beer, the Pantry or City Diner for a great breakfast or cafe type dining, Patti's for the Godfather or Gnocci, Philly Cheese Steak on that place east of Elizabeth on Eagle Ridge isn't too shabby, the diner type place in Dillard's of the Pueblo Mall isn't too shabby...

You gotta try all these places at least once, but keep in mind to call ahead. Some of these places have weird hours and aren't open on Mondays or Tuesdays.

For an awesome steak and some exotic food, like Ostridge, Elk, Bison, rack of lamb, King Crab, Oysters Rockefeller, Lamb Shanks, Quail, etc., try
DJs Steakhouse. Their prime rib is supposed to be good too. Their regular steaks are probably great, but I'm always trying something I can't usually have elsewhere, like the lamb, quail, bison, elk, etc.

Oh, the Hanger is supposed to have fantastic prime rib too! I'll have to try this place soon. To get there, go south on Elizabeth from 29th and turn left or go east on 23rd until the road ends at I-25.
