Default Pueblo Colorado Italian Food

Here's a few of mine and other's favs:

Giodone's Tavern and Restaurant is my new fav!
Quote:
This was before I ate the take-out at Pasta Cottage.
On the east side of the building is a nice quiet sort of dark dining area. On the west side is a noisy sort of cafe looking tavern portion of the restaurant that looks a bit noisy and well lit. Best of both worlds. Any way, I got a chicken alfredo and the alfredo sauce was the best I've ever had. I loved it! MrsGowdog got a chicken parmesan that looked good too. It's a small place and off the beaten path. It's out on "middle 50". You know? Santa Fe towards County High School, but not that far I don't think.

23344 E US Highway 50, Pueblo, Colorado - (719) 542-9751‎ to be more specific.

Latronica's Restaurant Inc. I like it and it's probably got a lot of history. It's by the famed Gus's (Dutch Lunch, most beers served per bar stool on the planet Earth-back in the day!) and it's by this awesome Italian market/store/deli called Gagliono's Italian Market. Latronicas is on Elm and Mesa. Mesa is the street just north of Northern. If you got off at Central off of I-25 and went up Abriendo towards the light at Northern, you go north to Mesa and turn right on Mesa and I think it's right there on the left. That's Elm. If you were to turn right on Elm, you'd see Gus's and Gagliono's on that steet as you made your way back to Northern or I-25.

1143 E Abriendo Ave, Pueblo, Colorado - (719) 542-1113‎

Rosario's which has nice food, but I haven't been to in a while.
2930 N Elizabeth St, Pueblo, Colorado 81008 (719) 583-1822

Giacomo's used to be Gaetono's which I loved back in the day. We try it from time to time and I think it depends on what you order. Good people still work there. I hope to support them more in the future, but not till after I go back to Giodone's

910 W US Highway 50, Pueblo, Colorado 81008 (719) 546-0949

Patti's Restaurant and Lounge. Right by the River Walk at Grand and Sante Fe! The gnochi! The sausage! The Gnochi! Floating in a pool of Olive Oil! A treat! Lunch or Dinner! You've got to check this place out.

241 S Santa Fe Ave, Pueblo Colorado - (719) 543-2371

Pass Key Get the one with the 3 cheeses! If you're gonna do it, do it.

518 E Abriendo Ave, Pueblo Colorado - (719) 542-0827 For the "Real One" or original location

1901 W US Highway 50, Pueblo Colorado - (719) 542-9144 For the second location. They have a good green chile here for some reason.

These places have weird hours. Not open on all days.

Pasta Cottage
1525 E Evans Ave, Pueblo, Colorado 81004 (719) 564-0095

Take out only. I guess on Wednesday, they have some kind of pasta deal.
Yes! Mr. Swelk! [my friend Loren from another place ] Good call! Just had their food tonight. Very resonably priced; I got the Italian Sausage sandwich with some kind of spicy pepper in it as well- I hate to admit this, but this stuff MAY be better than my cousin Jackie's.

I only say this because she's very far from seeing this on the internet. If she does, I'm doomed. She is a very good cook. She doesn't make lasagna probably only because that's my mom's thing. It's just the way our family is. And for that reason, my mom wouldn't mess around with the Italian Sausage Sandwiches. It's a rule! It's respect. It's about turf!

Anyway, I got spaghetti and meatball, I got this homeade thick pasta with Italian sausage. For 18 bucks my wife and I ate and ate this stuff. I felt like we were in The City! If I had a grandmother alive today...God rest their souls, I would have to slap somebody's grandmother.

This food was so good.

Look out Iannes! That's all I gotta say. Another Pueblo Gem!

Angelo's Pizza Parlor now on the River Walk. The best closest thing I've had to New York Brooklyn/Bronx style Pizza!

223 S Union Ave, Pueblo Colorado - (719) 544-8588 I'm not sure this is the new location. If not, just head down Union to just over the River.

1110 W US Highway 50, Pueblo Colorado - (719) 545-3400 Second location

Someone calls their pizza the best in Colorado. Wow.

Quote:
...have eaten at Angelo's about 6 times. The pizza is to die for. I lived in
Quote:
Italy for 3.5 years.
I have been back in the US of A for 18 years - I had found the perfect and authentic little
Pizzeria in Colorado Springs, but it closed down. Angelo's has the prefect crust and sauce
(also, traditional and authentic to true Southern Italian Pizza!) Everyone knows that crust and sauce are the foundation that any good Pizza is built on. Without a solid foundation, no pizza stands a chance.
Perfect balance of spices and tomato taste in the sauce, not the sickeningly sweet or "tangy" Americanized slop.
I could live on this pizza for the rest of my life...

Do Drop Inn Some people like their pizza. I like it ok, but not as much as the former or Ianne's Pizza takeout place on
Northern.

1201 S Santa Fe Ave, Pueblo, Colorado 81006 (719) 542-0818

Also a location in Pueblo West off of the Purcell exit.

944 E Kimble Dr, Pueblo West, Colorado 81007-1262 (719) 547-8440

Ianne's Pizzeria Number 1 Speaks for itself. Oh, but you HAVE TO try the Italian sausage and chili pepper pizza here!

515 W Northern Ave, Pueblo, Colorado 81004 (719) 542-5942

Pagano's I remember this place having good homemade pasta dishes and it's in a little fast-food
looking place. Don't let the building fool you. This ain't fast food. It's just-right food.

3416 W Northern Ave, Pueblo, Colorado 81005 (719) 566-0067

Oh, and we have a Johnny Carino's and an Olive Garden. The latter is so busy all the time. Some people must love the place. They're building a Chipotle's next door to it. If that place fills up, I'll know that we have a bunch of plastic fake people taking up space in this town. Oh, IMO!

Another thumbs up for Gagliano's, it's a wonderful place and I love the take home frozen lasagna and cold cuts. Very nice people work there. I love that place.

Giodone's was good too, I'd eat there again but I did not care for the manicotti at all. The chicken alfredo was delicious as was the fried spaghetti.

We all know what I think of the Don't Drop Inn.

Roseros is good, but the service is slow. As far as the others I like them a lot. There is a fairly new one by the old Minnequa bank that is really good, I always forget the name lol I will drive by it and post the name here hopefully as soon as Monday.
On a another note Pueblo has our first "expensive" restaurant. Its in downtown and the chef won the iron grill Colorado contest and is from Denver. Its on Main street and the name is a address, 1520 or something. They have duck fraw graw (cant spell it but love to eat it lol), etc. Again I will look tomorrow and post it. He is friends with the owners of the Rio Bistro, another great restaurant, why he moved here. There is a new steak restaurant on Union ave, but I have not made it there, I need to I hear its wonderful.

They have duck foie gras in Pueblo?!! What's next? Kobe beef and Beluga Caviar and Courvoisier XO? We might have to check that place out.

I sort of know Benny at the Bistro. I haven't been there yet either. We like to go to Canon City and eat at the Le Petite Chablis. But I'm not picky.

It's 1521 and foie gras I haven't been yet, I have been pestering my husband to go there since I read about it in the paper. It's not Italian food though, but looks like good stuff. Anyone been yet?

Miyake is my new hangout. Delicious Japanese food. My husband and I go on Fridays after work usually. Awesome people too

In Italian food news, Manhattans on Hwy 50 has been too busy for me lately and the busier it gets, the worse the food is (which I guess is to be expected). Typically, the beer is fresh, the wings are good sized and hot, lately it's been a crap shoot when we go there. The pizza is always good though. I'm trying to get them to deliver pizza to PW The delivery pizza here is terrible.

I was just off by one number lol but 1521 is great, I have been there twice and had pheasant once with a port wine reduction sauce and steak that was awesome. When I am there it feels like I should be in the Springs lol

There is another sushi place on Pueblo's south side that is great, sushi garden.

Oh! Isn't that where the Nachos #2 was or right by the south side Walmart? I haven't tried that yet.

I like the Japanese restaurant on the north side off of Club Manor, Miyaki? They have that chop-chop Benihana-style at the table if you reserve the table in advance. Was that redundant?

I think Miyaki closed but I am not sure. There are 3 places for sushi left in Pueblo, Momo's and Suerhio (both in downtown) and Sushi Garden on the south side by Walmart and Kmart like you said.
