Thanks for any help...

I sent you a private message about a dear friend I have known for almost my entire life. She's a realtor up there so please give her a call.

You know that Fairplay is really "South Park" right? It is somewhat isolated seeing as how you do have to cross Hoosier Pass to get to Breck. Fairplay can get some very interesting winter weather and ground blizzards. There really is NOTHING in Fairplay just some local shops, I have been there several times and haven't really even seen a grocery store, but I'm sure that there is one.
And about the reservoir town, I think that you are referring to Quartzville.

boreas pass
Boreas pass would be a real experience in the winter. I think that person meant Hoosier pass which is over 11500 ft but is relatively easy, except for the endless switchbacks on the north side.

With Hoosier though, it's not something I would want to tackle on a daily commute in the winter time, especially if one starts work early or finishes late.

My husband did it everday for work one season when he was a lifty at Breck. At the time they had a bus that went back and fourth a couple times a day. That was really nice, but they canceled it the following year. He decided not to return to work at Breck because he didn't want to drive. Not that the drive was bad, usually the roads were fine. He just didn't like driving early in the morning and late at night.
