I am new to this forum, and didn't know how to start a topic or questions of my own. So, I will try this way.

My husband has received a promotion and we are to be moving to the Castle Rock area. We are from SW Kansas, and have no clue of the area that surrounds Castle rock. I am having problems finding a home for us. We want a single family home, no attached homes. Need a yard for 2 hunting dogs. Also our price range is approx 200K. We have no children as of now but we plan on starting soon. I believe it's a good possiblity that I will be working in Parker. Do you have any suggestions. Also, we would need to be in a good school area for later on. We plan on moving and hopefully staying in that home.

Any help would be great thank you.

I think the average house price in Douglas County is closer to $300,000.

You may be able to find something decent for $250,000, it would either be a small yard or a small home.

Douglas County schools are very good.

You may want to consider Elizabeth or Kiowa if your looking for bigger lots. They are in the east to southeast rural area around Parker and Castle Rock. Its spread out a bit more out around there and its not too far a drive to Parker. Definately a more rural feel, but I believe your housing dollar will go further.

Real estate around Castle Rock is ... weird. With all the houses for sale, you *expect* it to be a "buyers' market" ... but it is in a weird state of "limbo".

If you are not in a hurry, you probably CAN get what you seek. If you are in a rush ... you should take the above advice and look at Elizabeth or Kiowa. (They are both South and East of Parker. Castle Rock is West of Parker.)

Default Thanks

Thanks For All The Helpful Input.

If There Is More Please Let Me Know.

I'm Very Nervous About The Move And Getting Over My Head. We Are First Time Home Buyers. Acutally This Month We Were Going To Build Our First Home, But Since We Are Going To Co That's Not Going To Happen. Plus The Price Of Homes Are 38+% Higher In Co.

So The More Info The Better For Me. I Will Probably Be Moving Up There In About 1-2mo. My Husband Is Staying In A Hotel That His Job's Paying For (luckly)

Thanks To All For Your Words Of Wisdom.

Shasta

I found 26 houses 1200+ sq ft, 3 or 4 bedrooms, 2+ baths and a basement in Parker or Castle Rock under $220,000.

Were can I view these houses and do they come with land. Like I've said prior we have 2 hunting dogs whom can scale a 6foot fence no prob. So, we need some are for a kennel and storage. What location would be best between Castle Rock, Parker, Franktown, Elizabeth that would be best for $$ also good road conditions.

Thank you for your input.
