Default Recreation in Alamosa

Okay, i've a friend who's attending college in Alamosa and I was thinking about moving up there to keep her company (and well-fed as we jonkingly say)considering we're close. Anyway, the main thing i'm would like to know is, what do people between the ages of 18-20 do for fun? I'm even up for other activities.

There's some great hiking, camping and mountaineering in the area, if you're into that. Great Sand Dunes National Park is very close by. There are also some cool wetland refuges if you enjoy viewing wildlife -- especially birds. Rock climbing and camping at Penitente Canyon is excellent.

Terrific elk hunting in the nearby Sangre De Cristo range, and good waterfowl hunting on the Alamosa and Monte Vista wildlife refuges. Also, the Taos Ski Valley (now open to riders, too) is less than 2 hours away, weather permitting.
