Default Westcliffe, CO -- PHOTO TOUR

This set of pics was inspired by a planned trip to a HS Football game. Go Rye Thunderbolts! And I hope the Custer County Bobcats can draw a wildcard bid. Those beasts that came down from 2A up in the North Central league are looking to send 5 of the six in there conference unless CHSAA comes to their senses and gives CC the remaining ticket. They sure played Rye better than their other 8 victims.

Anyway, here's some pics that show the remaining autumn leaves that haven't quite frozen up yet. Most of the leaves in Pueblo literally froze up and blew away late Wednesday night.

Now this photo tour starts at about Wetmore and continues on into Silvercliffe and Westcliffe and the Sangre De Cristo range beyond. Hope you enjoy;

Thanks for checkin' them out! I noticed that I should have edited out a few shots as they were too similar to others in the series. I didn't get the shots I really wanted to as the road wouldn't let me pull over. You've gotta do this drive to really appreciate it. Hwy 96 heading up from Pueblo to Wetmore has a pretty impressive 8% and 9% grade for a short stretch.

I remember skiing at Conquistador back in the day. I'd been to many wrestling tournaments in Westcliffe too. Those Sangres amaze me in how jagged and new they look.

It was incredibly hot out there for a couple hours yesterday. I got a sunburn! Then it got windy and cool... Colorado for ya.
