R/E market on the front range is terrible.

Acreage prices will be equally bad.

Good luck.

If you look in the Hwy 85 corridor you should be able to get a couple of acres for a good price especially around the Platteville up to the Nunn area. The housing market here has not been hit as hard as the rest of the country. We have been pretty lucky. However building has slowed down and this is a slow time of the year anyway.

Being a contractor on the western slope, to say that I pay attention to what is going on in the R/E market is an understatement.

Sales of existing homes are down, both price wise and volume.

Permits for new construction has taken a beating.

To the OP. Yes, you can find acreage out in the flat land/plains, but it's cheap for a reason.

I didn't say we have not been affected here. I am simply saying we have not seen the impact that the rest of the country has. I too pay attention to the market. If you look at houses in the Weld county area you can find a house on a small acreage for around 150,00-200,000. I am helping a client in that area right now and most of the houses in this price range with a small acreage do not stay on the market for very long before going under contract.

Denver has not been spared the economic funk we are all experiencing. It may be slow to effect the worst but on that clear night when the DOW dipped to the all-time low you could hear the collective *G U L P* echo from purple mountain to purple mountain.
