Default southern colorado

Can anyone offer some insight in the southern Colorado area?
Looking at the area of Trinidad +/- 50 miles. Interested in area of potential relocation/retirement. Prefer treed area, not actually baren, wildlife, some peaceful area. Plan on visiting in late Spring however, planning on area for visition within a limited time period, 3 days.
Interested in parcels of acreage. Do you happen to know of pros/cons of area, drilling (water), POA ? Would appreciate any info..
Any suggestions of other area. How about the durango area, pricey but would you know of comparable locations as Durango?
Thx,

As Mike said there is alot of info on southern Colorado, Trinidad and Durango. Comparable areas to Durango, probably Boulder, Boulder being larger but both liberal, educated college places, mountain areas, new agey, trendy, etc.
