somebody made this statement in the Rocky Mountain News and I wondered how accurate it is.

Not here. We came because of a job and family.

Not me either (although I do love seeing them out the window - even from a distance). Jobs and I LOVE the climate. I hate humidity. I could do with a "tad" more rain than we've gotten lately though! I do miss a good long thunderstorm...

Nope. Family is reason #1-- for me at least.

We came because of my husband's job - no more, no less.

I'm relocating for a more affordable cost of living and better standard of living. The mountains will be nice to look at and I might go there from time to time, but if Denver were 1000 miles east and had the same combination of weather, lifestyle, and affordability, I'd be just as happy.

Vegaspilgrim is right on for me, too--I would be on one of the coasts but I could not afford to come back for family events.

We came from Las Vegas for the mountains and the climate. Have no family in the state and found a job before moving. Also love being 1.5hr drive from great skiing.

Yes, pretty much. I retired and moved here for the mountains and what comes with them (camping, hiking, fishing, skiing). That and clean air, sunny weather, light traffic and (in Colo Springs) a conservative political environment that's relatively unpermissive of open immorality. I like to think of it as the anti-California.
