Default My vision of Pueblo

I have been thinking on what I would like to see Pueblo become and I am starting to come with a idea. This is still a work in progress but I thought I would post my ideas and see what people thought, maybe give me some options that could make my vision of Pueblo even better.

Starting with Pueblo's Riverwalk. When it gets completed to the baseball stadium have some kind of bus system run up and down it kind of like you see on the 16th street mall in Denver with no cars.

Then as the Pueblo Springs tech park gets built up and is dense, unlike the Denver tech center, I would like to see light rail from downtown Pueblo to the tech center connecting the developments in between, like the R&D park and business parks, to the transit center in Downtown. Then, the line could go south to the heavy industrial park and eventually continue on to Hatchet Ranch. Then, we could build a line from the downtown transit center to Colorado State University - Pueblo continuing on to the airport finally to the Colorado Energy Park. Even longer term the line could continue down the Arkansas valley to La Junta and Lamar. Not sure how we could do one west of downtown, I need to think about that as I don't know how Pueblo will grow in that direction, do you build a line to Canon City or to Beulah or both? Again longer term building it to Salida and Monarch.

That combined with the high speed train at the historic depot for the Front Range Urban Corridor would be awesome and make downtown Pueblo the world class downtown that it was meant to be.

These are all long range "optimistic" goals, I would say at least 10 or more years, depending on how fast the area grew. The good thing is Pueblo has the foundation we just need to figure out how to use it wisely.

Default Ritter looks to repair Pueblo rift

This shows how important Pueblo is to the Colorado:

"Gov. Bill Ritter heads to Pueblo today for the first time since the tongue-lashing he received in January, in part over his pick for the U.S. Senate. "

More good news for Pueblo..

¨¨The Pueblo Economic Development Corp. will have an announcement Monday about a company expanding in Pueblo, this is a tech company that will employ over 150 people!

Centa said PEDCo is working with 13 other companies that may be interested in moving to or expanding in Pueblo. One company, which works in wind energy, has narrowed its choices down to two locations in Pueblo.¨¨ My guess is that is the foundry that Vesta´s said they want to build in Pueblo.....

The link. The Pueblo Chieftain :: PEDCo announcing more jobs Monday

Default newbie

I just joined the forum. MY partner and I have recently purchased Land in Colorado City and are excited about moving down. We plan to build our own home in 2 years. We presently live in Longmont but have a trailer on the Colorado City property and try to visit at least once a month.

I am enjoying the posts about the development of Pueblo, Including the development of the Vestas Site. It is an exciting time see the positive growth and the potential that it brings.

I will try to post some pictures of the Land as we develop with it.
