Well phase one will be done in the Spring and then they will start with phase two, they got the money that is a old article. I am not a construction export so I do not know how long those things take. Phase 3 is just another pool, they will have 2 pools now (indoor and outdoor), but will start right after phase 2.

Read the Chieftain article, it talks about what will be there.

If you want more informaton on what the rec center will have there is a number to call for information in the article, they would be more then happy to answer all your questions.

darjoh is on a distinguished road
I read the article the first time you posted the link, its an editorial by the president and chief executive officer of the YMCA of Pueblo. (In other words an advertisement, a free one at that.) I would like to see investigative reporting on the actual progress of it.
Also you mention your not a construction expert, but your quick to post all that info about building 70,000 houses, and tech centers, and other "incentives" about Pueblo. ( I like "McDogs" comment about the 10,000 vacant houses already existing) Its all fine and dandy, but private organizations are all about one thing, profit for themselves. I am talking about community resources, for the community, provided solely by the city, or county. That is what makes people want to live in a certain area.
With all that has happened nationally under Bush, the public has been well informed about how business gets their hands into government, and distorts things for business profit, not the citizens welfare.
I still am interested in living in Pueblo, but this is a major topic for me, and I am sure many others.

I will post of picture of the YMCA building tomorrow so you can see the progress of it.

You said "Also you mention your not a construction expert, but your quick to post all that info about building 70,000 houses, and tech centers, and other "incentives" about Pueblo" You are right I do post the information I get from sources that do know what they are talking about, none of those are my opinions in fact the big article about the economy in 2009 comes from the experts at CU Boulder not Pueblo.

If a rec center is a major influence on rather you will move into a area or not my suggestion is to call them directly and see if they will have what you are looking for. Then you can make up your mind if Pueblo is the right kind of town for you or not.

Default CU Boulder 2009 economic forecast

I guess it was in violation of copy right, I thought since I included the source it would be ok.

Here is the first sentence of the economic forecast for Pueblo in 2009:

In spite of the contraction in Pueblo’s housing market, the construction sector of the local economy
has been sustained due to continuing activity on several large projects, average annual construction employment for calendar year 2007 (latest available data) accounted for about 4,200 jobs, compared to 3,800 the previous year.

Here is the link to the CU boulder 2009 economic forecast, Pueblo is on page 115.

There ya go. Good job.

Darjoh. I think you're right. Fort Collins is better than Pueblo. You ought to just stay there.

Say Good Night Joss.

Default Possible annexations into Pueblo

I did want to mention the 3 annexations Pueblo has going on that I read about in the 2009 economic outlook they are:

1. Pueblo Springs Ranch - This is a 24,000-acre planned community, when built out it will have 70,000 new housing unites or 200,000 people and a tech park, I am told will be the largest in the state.

2. The North Vista - 1,178-acre mixed use development located adjacent to Pueblo’s Walking Stick Golf Course.

3. Seranto - a 542-acre mixed-use development that could conceivably add several thousand additional residences to Pueblo’s north side.

Nice. I thought those were black and white at first, until I saw they were snow pics!

I snapped a few on the way into work this morning. Nothin' special...I was in a hurry as I wanted to not be more that 15 minutes late, but it was chilly this morning!

Looking at Spanish Peaks and La Veta Pass, but Sangres are covered in clouds as is Baldy and Saddleback on Greenhorn

Not much snow here, but by Lake Beckwith, they got about 6" and about almost a foot up in Rye
