Default Pueblo's East Side King Tacos and Liz's Tamales

Just thought I'd throw these together photo thread style. Went to both places to bring home dinner last night. Costed about 20 bucks for the two of us; a few bucks more than fast food and way better! Even have leftovers.

Six tamales from Liz's for 8 bucks. Three beef tacos on deep fried white and 4 fish tacos with beans and rice for 13 bucks. Mmmm. The Kind!

King Taco

There's so many good places to eat down there, right along Northern! Many good Mexican and Italian joints.

Flashforward to Joss: You mean right here (see pic below) on Evans and Northern? Or do you mean over by 5th or 6th and Main?

I don't think so in any case. The only new place I've been is just catty corner to the Mill Stop; Pasta Cottage. You can see my review of that place in my Pueblo Italian Food thread.

Yikes! $16 for a dozen tamales? That's pricey IMO. ($6 here in SoHo aka: Barrio)

I have not liked any of the mexican food I've had in Colorado. The Loop & Cactus Flower are the 2 places I remember going. Taco Bell and Del Taco don't count *gag*
Maybe I just picked bad places to eat.

I don't like Tex Mex. You can have tha Armadillo road kill.

I can find tamales for cheaper, but these were GOOD.

I don't know Joss. Is this place on Evans? Route? South or north of Northern?

Tamales..... another great place is Burrito Betty's at 24th and Elizabeth... north side... several blocks south of Northside Safeway, K-Mart and Hwy 50. Safeway is on 29th street. Betty's looks like an old Phillips 66 gas station, which it is. Only carry out .... and I have to carry it 652 miles to Saint Joseph, Missouri .......... tamales and green chili..... excellent.... gringos in Missouri don't know what good food really is ........ I have to go to Pueblo. Tamales now are $16 a dozen but they are "10 month pregnant" tamales, i.e. filled with pork and thick.... not skinney little things are are not much bigger than a flour tortilla with one tea spoon of hamburger and 3 shakes of black pepper See Betty's menu: http://www.burritosbetty.com/menu.htm Airline people kind of look at me strangely when they check my suitcase and find frozen tamale and green chili.People in Pueblo have great food! Some good places over in Bessemer area also Ever been to the Eilers Bar at Eilers and Mesa... two blocks west of Santa Fe and one block south of Northern. Probably only place West of the Mississippi where the bathrooms are written in bo-john "men" "women"
