I think the
Hatchet Ranch area may be helpful to you, as it's just north on I-25 about 5 to nine miles north of Colorado City.
I have some pics on my
Colorado City Photo Threads 1 and 2; if you're willing to take a look at them you'll see that if you take the exit at MM 77, you'll be able to drive back along that Graneros Creek and find some nice land or maybe even some property for sale.
I've got a real estate guy in the area that I've referred a number of people to and have only heard good stuff about him. If you want his name and number, you can DM me for it.
The Stewart's in Colorado City had a nice piece of property and some nice horses back in the day. I don't know if they still own the property or if the ranch sold or was subdivided. They were surrounded by Hollydot and the golf course here in Colorado City.
All though I work in this town and my parents live here, I don't know much about horse property.
I used to work for a guy out in the now defunct Apache City area in Huerfano County about 5 miles south of exit or MM 71 just south of the historic (sort of ghost town) Greenhorn; Jerry Dixon. He raised Appaloosa show horses and his property bordered the Clinnon's property in Rye.
Don't know much about Beulah. Good luck with this.
