DoubleH, thanks for the suggestions. I most certainly will visit the places you have mentioned. It's most of what I will be doing in my year in Pueblo. So much to see, so little time. I love the high desert, moutain foothills, the mountains and all the fun places along the way. Just blows me away. I love to camp and fish too. Thanks Vegas for the pics!!

It looks like I'll need to bring some good ol Kansas City BBQ tho. I didn't see any BBQ joints in town. Any suggestions?

I live about 6 hours west of Pueblo but did the state fair just a couple weeks ago. When I go to Pueblo I usually do Mexican food. If anyone knows the bbq places it would be McGowdog. BTW, love your name. OK PUEBLO POSTERS, I'M STRAYING OFF THIS THREAD FOR ONE MINUTE! Love Andy Griffith, have the b&w shows memorized. "How do you do Mrs. Wiley?" "No coffee, tea, or punch thank yew!" Ok, I'm through now!

There's a new meat Market, Frank's I think it is, on McCulloch Blvd, it smells good when I drive by I haven't tried it yet though. They do ribs, brisket, not sure about pulled pork. According to the yellow pages there is GG Bbq, but I haven't been there yet either. We're getting a new smoker soon and will be doing our own smoking again, I can't wait

Dog wags his tail.

Thanks Ernest, Cremata, Vegas, and HH! I have not much to add.

Smokin' Willies in Wiley and Zeb's in Colorado Springs was the only places I knew for BBQ.

Vegas, I love those bridge pics. The Italian place used to be Gaetanos and the Pawn shop was a BurgerKing.

Check out my San Isabel, Rye, Mingus, and Bishop's Castle pics if ya get the chance.

Gotta go fishin on a pontoon boat now, wish us luck!

Thank you Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default weather

Thinking about a move from Fresno CA to Pueblo CO have heard the summers are hot. Fresno average is between 95 to 105 May to September. Also how is the driving on 25 south to New Mexico state line.

IMO the temperatures are pretty much the same in the summer. Pueblo's elevation is 4668 ft., maybe 1500 ft. lower than Colorado Springs, 45 miles to the north. As far as driving goes, it's not bad at all, just local traffic when you get past the Comanche plant, on the south edge of town.

You can't forget the low humidity here. It really makes a 95 degree day much more tolerable.

ErnestT! Whazzup?-Yep, you're right I know about humidity and the summer; those two subjects don't mix. The worst place I was in was Houston, Texas at the end of July. 98 degrees, 100% humidity. Like a turkish bath sauna room at your local health club. I don't know how people take that climate-not me!
