We've been kicking around the idea of buying a place up in the mountains for a couple of years now, and have been doing our fair share of research checking out different resort areas slowly over time.
We visited
Sol Vista/Granby Ranch this weekend and were very impressed. Does anyone have input on pros and cons of this area? I realize it's farther down 40 than Winter Park is - we made the drive yesterday in less-than-perfect weather, and yes, I wish it were closer to the metro area. But for the price of real estate there and the amenities offered for young families like ours, could it be a wise purchase? We are definitely looking at it as an investment, but in a long-term way; we want to find a spot where we will go for the next 10+ years. We are still looking at Keystone and Winter Park, but honestly, we just skiied WP on Saturday and it was so crowded it just wasn't really enjoyable.
I understand that there is a new commercial development in the planning stages at the entrance to Granby Ranch on Hwy. 40, which makes me feel good about the area's long-term prospects.
Any input is greatly appreciated!! Thanks
