Steamboat Springs = Strawberry Park hot springs (never been but everybody goes there, nude option avail I hear)
Aspen = Hike in to Conundrum natural hot springs near Maroon Bells (about 8 mi in, ouch!)
Salida area = Mt Princeton hot springs (nice, good size outdoor hot springs pool)
Saguache County area = Valley View hot springs nestled up in the foothills (nude option available I hear)
Ouray hot springs = Heard good about it
Pagosa Springs = Real nice after a day riding at Wolf Creek Pass, this is the "Versailles" of Colorado hot springs (but not snooty like Aspen or nuthin')
Idaho Springs = Been this one a million times. They got lotsa options: Lobster Boil = 108dF (my favorite) Separate areas offering same amenities for each gender. Massage avail. Some kinda mud-baths too. Also heated indoor pool for kids 'n stuff. PRIVATE BATHS: yeah, for you and your "close" friends (sells out very quickly, call in advance and reserve). Secret bonus: sometimes you are soaking away in the lap of mother nature's geothermal luxury and you hear some interesting noises coming from somewhere else in the labyrinthine underground caves. What was that? Strain the ears a little. Ooooh, that sounds naughty! (heh heh giggle)
Glenwood Springs: Heard good about the Vapor Caves. Only tried the gigantic outdoor pool (not hot enough, 103dF= LAME). Still worthwhile though.
Eldorado Springs: Right next to Boulder. Never been. Do they still have public hot springs here?
P.S. Enjoy your "soak" in beautiful, sunny Colorado !

FYI - Eldorado Springs is (are?) not hot springs. It is artesian spring water. There is a pool that remains a constant 76 degrees year round, and is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Strawberry Park in Steamboat springs is my personal favorite. Love sitting in the hot water, watching the open sky at night...(dreaming about it now).

Been to nearly every hot spring in Colorado. My all-around favorite is the municipal hot springs pool in Ouray. Nice facility, great setting, clean, not crowded (at least during the week when I usually go), not overly expensive. "Hot springing" is also usually best in winter--I'm not that fond of it in summer.

Pagosa Springs is my #1 favorite. I love the variety of temperatures to choose from. I usually start in the pools with a mid range temperature, then gradually work up to the Lobster Pot on the banks of the San Juan River. Being able to dip in the river is another big plus.
The Vapor Cave @ Weisbaden resort in Ouray is a close #2
Orvis Hot Springs in Ridgeway is a close #3
I agree with jazzlover....winter time is the best time to visit the hot springs, though I also enjoy summer soaks as well. The steam rising off the waters makes for an almost other worldly setting in the winter. Just visited Orvis this past weekend, and the experience is still fresh in my mind.

Mt Princeton Hot Springs is nice. Under new ownership and a lot of upgrades have been done. Three pools and a spa area. A lot of history with it, also.
