Fort Collins if you don't need a job and can stand living separate from a metropolitan area. Very safe, pretty town. Plenty of conveniences for day to day things - just not much of the big city stuff (entertainment, dining, sports, etc).

Default moving to CO comments

There is more to your question than what you asked. where do you plan to work?

Each of those towns represent a different geographic location around Denver. Longmont & Fort Collins represents the area called Northern Colorado and those areas are between 40-70 miles from Denver. I drive from the Longmont area to Aurora daily and it is an hour on the road each way. it doenst bother me but I am new!

Broomfield, Arvada, Westminster represents the mid to far-west areas of Denver. I hear lots of good things about Westminster. I've been to Arvada many times and there are fun things to do there (like D-notes!). Dont know much about Broomfield.

Aurora is on the other side of the market from the rest of the cities. Aurora is 'East Denver' - I work there and have been warmed by our security people to not 'venture out far' after dark there. I guess the crime rates are high there.

Fort Collins is a college town and has lots to do but is very expensive!! Longmont is a great buy but you need to stay away from the far east side of Longmont (between county road 3 and I-25); lots of cow farms!... You can find some great deals there.

Lots of folks I know live in Arvada, Broomfield, Longmont, and Ft. Collins and they like it!
Hope that helps. S

I'm a security officer and will be looking for that kind of job. I want a place to live that is quiet, hardly any kids, is very safe but not too far from a high school as I have a 14yr old daughter. I heard the schools are awesome in colorado. I'm a bit of a hermit and don't like to be bothered by a noisy neighborhoods. But do want to be near stores for food and gas, etc.
