We moved out Sept 2009 and we miss it lots. We are not really east coast people, nor southerners. We don't like sweet tea, we don't like the beach, we can't get a grasp on this whole jump in the car and drive up and down the coast to do this or that, the racism, all these trees hide the sky and the horizon, the moisture/humidity kills my food and belongings, and you can't be outside enjoying the weather year round. Oh, and the politics out here are up to your eyeballs. For example, the local community services board (like social services) just got busted for paying an employee for the past 12 yrs and he/she hasn't shown up to work in the past 12 yrs. This person hasn't been an employee for 12 yrs and when other employees questioned it, they were told to look away. This is very common news out here. Schools are also very different out here- very political and no wonder why parents homeschool and look for private schools. Gangs are also different out here.
