Those cities are larger then Pueblo but I can understand why people might think Pueblo is larger since we have more political and economic power then most of those cities and are in par with Denver. In fact we are the only city in the state of Colorado that successfully stands up to Denver, the rest might try but Denver just laughs however when Pueblo speaks Denver stops laughing and listens.

Go here and read. Read the comments of the cousin of the offender and see if this is just a typical drive-by. Leave a comment there if you want.
About the only drive-by I see here is your post.

I looked up the Dairy Queen on highway 50 and it is 81008 but I know if you go far enough north some are 81007 even though that is more known as Pueblo West.

Hot as Heck
If you are living in Pueblo you might as well live in AZ. HOT HOT HOT in the summer. Consider cities that are closer to Colorado Springs. A few hot days but only in July. The city offers all the basic needs and good rental and home prices.

Pueblo is more like the southwest then the rest of the front range and I think that is Pueblo's charm but to say we are as hot as Arizona is funny. Pueblo might get to 105 or so but at night we cool off nicely with a cool mountain breeze that you never find in Arizona.

Not to mention if I have to have snow I would prefer to have sun rather than couds and dampness. I am on Social Security Disability and the much lower cost of living is very attractive. Oh, I also have family in Denver, Pueblo, Williamsburg, Salida and Buena Vista.
I do have a few questions.
What are the areas of Pueblo to avoid in looking for housing?
What are considered the best areas - no half million dollar houses please?
What about areas between Pueblo and Canon City?
I am seriously considering acreage, anywhere from 3 to ? acres if that makes a difference in places to look at.
I do not mind a bit out of the way but like to not be too far from a city the size of Pueblo.
I have looked at the crime rate and if you compare it to Colorado Springs and look at the types of crimes commited you will see that violent crimes are more prevalent in Colorado Springs and Pueblo has more property crimes. Funny Seattle has tons of more stolen cars.
Will welcome any comments you all have.

Look at Pueblo West. About 30-45 minutes from Co Spgs, Canon City, Colo City, etc. Very low crime, great views, nice breeze/wind, and good schools.
We love it in 81007

Information on Pueblo Neighborhoods
My wife and I are moving to Pueblo. This thread is helpful but it's very large, so I just created a thread on Pueblo neighborhoods, with a detailed request for information:
http://www.city-data.com/forum/color...e-help-us.html
Input from Pueblo residents would be greatly appreciated.
