Darned few bugs and mosquito's here, but if you live near some water you will get some skeeters. Nothing like Florida or the south. Nothing. A few snakes around, mostly in rural areas or maybe around drainage ponds. Haven't heard of a single problem during our 3.5 years here. I see a few skeeters now and then, but they won't carry you off here like they will back east or the south. Fear not, there's really nothing here to harm you, unless you go hiking in some overgrown areas and start turning over rocks looking for trouble.

There are few BSL rules, pitbulls in some places, see: Colorado - Breed-Specific Laws (BSL) - Legislating Dogs - DogsBite.org

Dobies are fine. Our neighbors have two rescued Great Danes, big sweeties.

Sounds perfect! Why didn't we move here before!!?? Weather...good, no bugs...good...so what's the negatives?? (Besides crime, which is everywhere, and lack of jobs, which is everywhere!) We've also heard it's the sunniest place, too! Which will be a nice change from MN, where we can go two weeks without seeing the sun...depressing!

I have been reading your posts and enjoy all that you write. I believe that the medical project is a new clinic that Kaiser Permanente will be building in your area. Kaiser has just expanded, this year, to your area. Presently, they are using Physicians under a contract basis but they have indicated that they want to open their own clinics and establish their traditional HMO in that area with the Permanente Medical Group. Part of the story is in your newspaper:

Mike from back east, thanks for the link to the breed ban page. I was happy to see dobermans weren't even listed as dangerous dogs or more likely to bite!!! When loved, trained, and purchased from reputable breeders they are beautiful, wonderful family dogs. Thanks for the info!

Pueblo is small mid-size city.
Colorado Springs is avg mid-size city.
Denver is small major city and poplation half a million people.
There are 262 "cities" with populations over 100,000 people in America. "Pueblo" is 242 on that list, meaning there's ONLY 20 "cities" with SMALLER populations. Calling it a "major city" like Jossie did, is a STRETCH to say the least.

Again size is not the only factor if a city is a "major" city or not.

One more example, Casper Wyoming. It is smaller then Pueblo yet is the largest city in the northern part of Wyoming making it a important city for the state. That classifies it as a "major" city.

Also, lets say Pueblo is the 242 largest city in the country (even though that does not take out suburbs), that is out of how many cities? I am not sure but I know its in the thousands. That makes Pueblo a major city in comparison to all the cites and towns in the United States.

Maybe Jossppie mean Pueblo is major city in colorado, and not in usa!

Our World Captal, New York City is 13th biggest city on earth, and biggest city in usa!

Our hometown, Pueblo is 245th biggest city in usa, and to us, pueblo is 3rd biggest city of Colorado!
