www.maps.google.com or mapquest.com, just click on get directions and enter in you starting point and ending point, you can add stops, choose routes, whatever you like. You'll get a much faster and concise answer to you question that way.

what so you don't want to drive to CA, it isn't much longer .
The drive is long, that is all the information you need about the drive. Living though, well I don't know much about Col. Springs but Aurora is decent. That wouldn't be my choice but each person is different.

If you are concerned about being near family and concerned about the drive back, you'll hate being that far away from them.
