Default Looking For A City/Town w/Following Attributes...

After a recent conversation with a couple great and helpful individuals on here...I decided to lay off locking my sites ONLY on one particular town...and see what else is out there, that would meet my family's needs, in Colorado. We are not necessarily committed to any particular area of the state (as we have never lived outside of Texas (aside from a military base in another country). So, I welcome input referring to ANY parts of CO that meet my descriptions.

1. We live in a small, mostly Hispanic town in south Texas. We have no problems with any race. But would like to live in a place a little more diverse...not 90% one way or the other.

2. We need a public school (district) that has high test scores, teachers actually know to go the extra mile for their students, and if possible a low student/teacher ratio.

3. The city doesn't have to be metro or really small. As long as there are areas within it where traffic is better, it is not so much on the hectic-noisy side...and crime is low.

4. It needs to have outdoor recreational, activities very close by (so gas doesn't get costly) because we spend a lot of time outdoors as a family.

We are a young family, that has recently faced an incredible amount of crisis and challenges (I'm not using those terms lightly).

The best possible public school (we are low-income planning to go back to college) for our children...is extremely important...as is a peaceful place to live...and a good baptist or non-denominational church that has great ministries and services to offer it's community.

Parents input is especially welcomed!
