Dont worry there are plenty of places. Personally I would either look in Fountain or Pueblo. If you want more specifics on Pueblo I would be more then happy to give them for you. In fact because of Fort Carson we have many new devlopments on the north side of Pueblo.
One suggestion is to rent at first that way you can see if you like the area or not....

Start by reading key threads in the index.
- School topics
- Briargate, Security, Fountain, Carson
Use the search tool with key words of your choice, there's a ton of info in here. Once you do these things, add any new questions to the end of one of those threads or start a new thread if you wish.
Tens of thousands of Army families move every year, you'll be fine, talk to your peers.

hi there, wondering if you had decided to move to PW? We've decided to move there for privacy and open space. Regarding the water, we'll be working on Xeriscaping to safe water, but also to encourage natural landscaping. If you have moved to PW, would love to hear some suggestions. thanks

Hi Josseppie,
I am moving to Pueblo in November. Renting a small, 2 brm, 1 ba home in the Zip code 81003. I am moving sight unseen (TMI) and although some might say 'yer crazy', I trust the landlord is being truthful about the condition inside. I saw pix of front of the house and also looked at the street on yahoo.com's map.
It is a month-to-month lease. At first I was willing to sign a one-year lease and my kids said 'no, you will rent month-to-month' ... so I spoke with the landlord & he said, 'no problem' and sent a revised release.
I pay for trash, sewer, water, and gas/electric (not sure which it has ... I asked but have not gotten an answer yet). I am not one to waste energy and now I will be even more conservative.
My goal is to live in Colorado Springs because I am not used to living in 'hot weather' ... but rent is much higher there. So, after reading several posts here I made my decision to 'just do it' (by Nike) and so I faxed the lease agreement today.
Are people friendly in Pueblo? Does it have that 'small town' atmosphere, in the positive manner. Are there snakes and creepy poisenous spiders ... due to the heat?
I guess I'm looking for positive stuff about 81003 ... there are always 'blight neighborhood's' in Anytown, USA.
I enjoy reading your posts along with the other regular posters ...
Any positive feedback is WeLcOmE.

Pueblo is not that hot and it gets cold in the winter so we don't have the kind of bugs you have in the really year round warm climates.
81003 is a big area, can you say what street its on then we would know more.
Pueblo has a awesome atmosphere of a big town in some ways that is a friendly small town. Personally i like it.

HI Everyone! Thank you so much for your inputs! After heading back to the look over some homes, we fell in love with Pueblo West, a home that's 3 yrs old, with 2800 sqft, over 1 acre lot and 3 car garage.....we like the privacy, a bit more land and money's worth with more room. But, also, after talking to various people...we just didn't want to fight with traffic from Co Spgs and feel we can handle the 20-30 drive from/to the base.
Now, I'm dreaming of how I want to complete the unfinished basement (will look to hire a certified contractor sometime in February-any suggestions?) as well as how I want to Xeriscape our lawn (thank you McGowdog!).
I have spent many hours through this forum, however, there's just sooooo much information. Therefore, the guidance I have received on this thread, I very much appreciate from everyone.
thank you!
