Try contacting Kent at Blue Sky West / Steamboat Powdercats. They run cat operations in the winter, and rafting trips in the summer. They
might be looking for a photographer who can ski & has rafting experience. Your WFR cert might matter to them as well.
Good luck- the Routt county government just laid off 30 people & I imagine they are all on the hunt in an already limited job market (the problem with every ski town).
One other option, if you're inclined - the
Second Nature program in Utah (wilderness therapy program) might be interested in field staff with biology & NOLS background. You could live in Steamboat and commute to the field (near Vernal, UT). It's like a 4-days-on, 3-days-off kind of job - so you'd drive from the Boat on a Monday and come home on a Thursday.
