Cool Moving to Durango

I would like to move to Durango or some where close to that. I am looking for a chef job in those area. Does any one know of a chef position coming up soon or where I should look? I tried the Durango news paper but found very little in the food and beverage department.

Hi, there are some excellent chefs if Durango including some great sushi chefs from Japan and of course Oprah's friend and chef is in Durango too among many others so competition is stiff on chefs. There are German, French and Italian chefs here to boot. I would get a list of restaurants and there are a bunch and either call or email a resume to them. Go to
http://www.restauranteur.com/co/durangoarea/alpha.htm and there lists some area restaurants with addresses and phone numbers.

You and everyone else wants to be in Durango.
As a chef, I'd say promising but not realistic.

A friend of mine works(or at least was when I left) at one
of the finer resturants in town as a Chef. And the husband
of a friend of mine works as a Cook at Denny's

the Chef makes roughly 10.50/hr he is salary
Denny's cook almost $14/hr

Durango is full of businesses who love to make a buck
but aren't willing to support the employees who have to live here
to keep it alive.

Some examples:
Executive assistant 8.50/hr
Mcdonalds 7.50/hr
City Market $8/hr for a stocker

The only business to be in, in this town is Real Estate or Building.
Once they are all out of land, It'll look just like Vail or Aspen.
