Default Nice campground near Idaho Springs?

Hi. I'm looking for a campground for a youth group weekend. It should be near Idaho Springs, as we have an activity planned that leaves from there one of the days.

There would be about 15 people in tents, so we'd need a group site, with bathrooms with running water, if possible.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Well Idaho Springs is next to Mount Evans. Must be a campground like that around there somewhere.

West Chicago Creek is where I went.

In fact, I recommended this place over 2 years ago here. Run a search of the place or look in MFBE's indexes above for perhaps more info.

We always went to Pickle Gulch when I was young.
There are plenty in that area. Chief Hosa would be easy as well as anything near Mt. Evans.

There are not a lot of group sites available near Idaho Springs. Pickle Gulch is located near Central City and the road to Idaho Springs has been improved recently.

A nice tent only group area, Pickle Gulch information can be found at...

USDA Forest Service, Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forests, Pawnee National Grassland - Recreation Activities, Clear Creek Ranger District - Pickle Gulch Campground

A good reference site to quickly find Colorado campsites including public and private locations is www.rv-camping.org/Colorado.html
