Default Pueblo - Where Should I Avoid?

After reading numerous threads already, it is obvious that certain parts of Pueblo ae not the best. But I am having trouble determining which areas those are, and where I should try to avoid.

I am considering a job that would bring me there. If so, I would be working near the Pueblo Mall area. What is this area like? Are there any apartments in the vicinity?

Pueblo has a lot of the things I am looking for in a city. Nice climate without a lot of snow or tornadoes, low rental prices, not sprawling in every drection like Denver, and most of all, it seems to be a city of real people. What I mean by "real people" is that hey don't seem to feel the need to impress others or keep up with the neighbors and show off their $$$. They are proud of their city's past and don't try to hide it.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

I would avoid the east side and just west of downtown by the state hospital.

If you are looking for a apartment and working by the mall I would look up near Eagle Ridge, there are nice one called the Landings. There are some nice apartments on Troy Ave but they are by the university so many college students live there.
