Default Relocation

I am looking at relocating to Colorado with my family. We're thinking about Montrose, Grand Junction and possibly Gunnison. What is the job market like? What is the housing market like? Schools? It's difficult to find good info on the web, and would like to get information from real people. Thank you for you input.

Lots of info in the forums already, use the Index of key threads to find what's listed already, or the search tool to find it.

Job scene not that great, better than some states.

It is projected to rival Hollywood in about 10,000 years!

The job market is very slow/non-existent in Grand Junction. The housing market is rather pricey for what you get. Basically to rent a small three bedroom one story-house in a nice / livable neighborhood is $1200 / month, which to me is out of sync, consider that GJ is not a "city" and doesn't have a whole lot of attractions or activities.

If those two things aren't obstacles for you, then Grand Junction is a good place to live, if you like small towns, it's tranquil and laid back. You just have to be aware that it's the "desert" in all aspects of the word. Dry, barren, dusty and windy.

Well according to my informal definition of things, Grand Junction is a small town.
