My husband and I are thinking of buying a small 2nd home for summer trips out of hot St. George, Utah. Have been thinking about Cortez, then happened onto info on Palisade which led to Grand Junction and Fruita. The pictures look nice and lots of nice inexpensive places for sale, but when I read the city-data description it seems that Grand Junction in particular has a very high crime rate. Anyone out there with info on these areas? Why so much crime for such a relatively small town? Thanks so much, I appreciate you time and any info you can give me.
