My wife and i are considering a move to Colorado. We'll be making a trip from our home in Florida in a few weeks to scout out potential areas to consider to live.

I'm a RN and was wondering if anyone can give me heads-up on some hospitals that might have some job openings. I've worked on a telemetry step-down unit for about 2.5 years. I have ACLS and been trained in critical care.

Right now we are looking outside of the Denver area and maybe the Ft. Collins region. #1 priority is me finding a job and then a place to move #2. Any advice or knowledge of hospitals that are hiring or have postions available?

private messages are ok or even email me at xmann1102@cox.net

thanks

You might find a job most anywhere in COLO. Main population is along the I-25 corridor, aka the Front Range, from Fort Collins on the north end down to Pueblo on the south end. Largest concentration is in Denver area, close to 3M people and plenty of hospitals. Looks in the Indexes at the top of each forum, under the heading of Medical for existing threads that contain a lot of info on medical / hospital work. For COLO SPGS, one of those threads lists all the hospitals, with links, etc.

Consider Wyo (no income tax, well funded schools, no fishing pressure (except for 'greenies'... Colo escapees)). I would look first to Sheridan (VA there as well as hospital). But if you want to be close to Colo, I'd chose Laramie. Cheyenne is not my favorite destination in Wyo.
SD is income tax free as well, not a bad place either. (Low unemployment for the most part. Less high tech, but less housing and fewer crowds)

If you are stuck on Colo, there are 3 potential Hospitals in the Loveland / Ft Collins corridor + Greeley is within ez commute and has a good hospital. Estes Park as well + Longmont, Boulder...

as mentioned, Colo Springs is worth a look.
