Pueblo west and Radon
We just moved to Pueblo West from Missouri, we always lived out in the country and this was the best we could afford without going back to Missouri
Now I hear about radon. We bought a nice crawlspace house that stays nice and dry rain or shine. Missouri they were always wet and standing water.
Is this radon something we need to check into, how many house around here have this? Is a crawlspace worse than a basement house. How many of you have discovered radon in your house and what did you do about it?

Most everything you'll need to know is in this existing radon thread. Add any additional questions to that thread.

Aren't radon tests and mitigation required before selling a house? Did you get report on that?

Inspection are encouraged, but not required.
Once a inspection turn up an issue the option is to 1. terminate or 2. negotiate or 3. nothing.

I got a radon mitigation system for my house because the inspector suggested it. If you don't find the info you need on that other thread just DM me and I'll give you the name of the mitigation company I used. The setup consists of nothing more than a pipe on the side of my house with a small fan that runs all the time. Very non-obtrusive, but it did cost $900.
It's one of those things, kinda like eating recalled pistachios... it MIGHT NOT harm you, but then again, it might. Since I work full time from my basement, I figured it was well worth the investment for the sake of my health over the next few decades... Of course, it's no guarantee, since there are plenty of other ways to get cancer these days, but I would really be kicking myself if I got sick one day and could have avoided it just by attaching a little fan to the side of my home.
