Now I'm stumbling over the comment about our 'accent' here. I don't have an accent or do I? I think people from Chicago, New York, Texas and the south part like Louisianna, Tennessee and Georgia....they have an accent!! hehe.... Not me!! hehe :E

Every place has an accent of one sort another, but it only comes across as an accent to someone from another area where the accent is different. After a few more generations of TV, the whole country will have the same accent. WIthout the different regional accents, then it will seem like there is no accent.

Back home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Had a great week. Went to Ridgway, Montrose, Delta, Cedaredge, Paonia, Hotchkiss, Redstone, Grand Junction, Fruita, Oletha, Crawford. Decided Ridgway it is. Now to sell my house here.

I'd say that's a good choice. It's well situated, close to Ouray, Telluride and the San Juan mountains. At the base of great mountains. Close to the state park. Not too far from Montrose for shopping.

My thoughts too. And the people are super friendly and the fact I can walk to the store, a restaurant, or the park really appeals to me. And it's not too far (and not too close) to my sisters in Delta.

In the winter you can probably slip on a pair of cross country skis and ski on over to Orvis Hot Springs for a soak in the steaming hot water.

Never skied really haven't seen snow other than the few inches of wet heavy snow we get here, and the winter cold here is a damp cold. I'm looking forward to the adventure!

Well sold my house and furniture headed to Ridgway on the 2nd to find a place to rent. Have a good size list of houses and condos available. Planning on spending about a week, then returning to clean out the remainder of my stuff, say my good byes and move there. Really looking forward to this!

Found a nice place to rent in Ridgway, everyone is super friendly, and so far I really like it. I love the small town feel and people smile and actually say hello or howdy, and will stop and talk for hours. I'm going to enjoy exploring and getting to know the area, and plan on buying a Jeep to explore the back roads. The good thing is the taxpayers of Arkansas (I'm a retired state officer) are paying me to live in Colorado, so the way I look at it, Colorado is making money for my living here! I have no intention of changing a thing here, just going to fit in an enjoy my retirement.
The view from my deck
