we looked all weekend in the Evergreen area. We had a wonderful Real Estate agent take us around. We were basically looking at homes in the under 500k. Though there were a few there are quite a few not so great ones on the market. We ended up looking elsewhere because my wife was not comfortable driving in from the mountains.
If you'd like the realtors name PM me I can send to you. There were a few places we thought were amazing and reasonably priced (470 and under). One place I'm still thinking about if our offer is not taken on another house.

We are looking for a fairly big place and since there are five us we need 4 bedrooms. In general, is the price range and the size of place, we are looking for a reasoanable expectation in Evergreen?

You will eventually find something but the 400-500k price range isn't the easiest to find a home in.
Here is one right under 430k.

another but a little more expensive.

In Evergreen the 400-500k price range is the toughest. Over 500k, no problem. Under 400k you can find some real nice smaller homes but nice, large homes that aren't on the outskirts of evergreen in this price range are hard to find.

Evergreen
We bought in an area called Sunset Ridge. It almost seems to be in Kittredge to me but...there seems to be alot for sale around here. How about checking Kittredge, Ideldale (??) or Morrison? Good luck.

Depends on the weather, at least once per season. And depending on how much the metro area got...you might not need to come in anyway.

Evergreen to Brighton would not be a good commute during any season if you have to do it frequently. That is 46 miles one way! It is a very long commute, for the Denver area (thought I know many people in CA do this type of millage every day).

Yeah, I'm in the dallas area and I'm used to having to drive at least 30 miles to work...are there better areas that are still in the mountains but closer to Brighton?
