Find the job before you move. Times are tough here and getting tougher by the day.

There was a massive amount of construction going on 2004-2007. What my friends tell me now is the whole business has come to a halt and many projects left unfinished.

Many construction workers in Colorado ( and elsewhere ) have reverted to part time maintenance work to tide themselves over until construction resumes. I have no idea when that resumption might occurr. Unless you have lots of $$$ to tide you over until the economy picks up, you are probably better off where you are right now. Staying put will save the money that it would cost you to change locations.

Construction (especially larger construction projects) have pretty much dried up. I've seem lots of half finished, empty projects all over the state.
CosmicWizard is right, you should think about staying put until the economy picks up (which could be a very, very long time!)

I'm told by folks in construction that residential construction is at a standstill, but commercial construction isn't quite as bad (though it still stinks). apparently there's very little crossover between the two.
