I haven't been hunting in years, but my extended family (mainly on the western slope) is big into hunting. Big-game Seasons depend on what type (rifle, muzzleloader, archery), but are generally staggered throughout October - early December. It also depends on if you are hunting on the eastern plains or in the mountains.

It's much easier and cheaper to get a license if you are a resident. Hunting is done both on government (i.e., BLM, forest service) as well as private land, but if you restrict yourself only to private land it's easier to get a license.

Thanks for your info tfox, I am so used to Texas hunting wher you can buy one hunting licenese that includes pretty much everything you can hunt down here and as long as you have a hunting location your set; but in Colorado I am having a hard time keeping everything straight as to units, preference points, multiple licesnces.

Thanks again.
