Default Retirement in Colorado

We currently live in a very conservative part of the midwest and would like to retire to the Colorado Springs, Divide, Florissant area. While this is not our primary consideration it is still on our radar since we would hope to make friends with some "like minded" people our age. Are there any areas that would be more suitable for us? We also like Old Colorado City and the west side of Colorado Springs if we want to stay closer to the city. We are looking for something in the $200,000 ballpark so the area also seems affordable. Any thoughts would really be appreciated. Thank you!!
